Radio channels announce festive schedules

The festive period is here in full swing and the radio channels are not leaving any stone unturned in bringing its listeners special shows to mark the big occasion.

BBC Asian Network
24th December, 6pm – 7pm
Sonu Nigam in concert
If you missed Sonu Nigam’s UK concert earlier this year don?t worry this special aims to fill you in on all the best bits and more. Within the first hour Asian Network presenter Ameet Chana is in conversation with the big Bollywood singer back backstage. The last hour makes up recordings from the concert itself.

25th December, 5pm – 6:30pm
Adil Meets Imran Khan:
Adil Ray talks exclusively to ex-Pakistani cricket captain Imran Khan about the South Asia Quake, life without Jemima and the current Pakistani cricket team. Plus Imran selects some of his favourite tracks from over the years.

26th December, 9am
Tsunami Special – One Year On
A year after the Tsunami disaster, Asian Network reporters Sanjeev Bhutoo and Osma Mayer report live from Sri Lanka. Having been on location since Friday 23rd they provide progress reports on how the effected areas are recovering from the earthquake. In particular Sanjiv Butto will be in Colichel looking at joint rehabilitation projects being led by UK,Indian and German charities. We’ll also be hearing from Network reporters in other countries affected by the tsunami (ie Thailand and Indonesia) and hearing from charities and aid workers in those countries affected.

Top 100

Sabras Radio
The Midlands based radio station will be running a special two-hour non-stop music marathon featuring the biggest hits of the year on Christmas Day from 10pm. The Christmas Night Special will air on Sabras Radio, on at 1260AM and online at www.sabrasradio.com .

Club Asia
Club Asia will have a special double headed cold turkey breakfast show on Monday 26th and Tuesday 27th December followed by The Essential Hits of 2005 show. Starting at 3pm the lines will be open for festive requests till San-j-Sanj takes over at 7pm playing the best party tracks from Bhangra and Bollywood. The station has also been playing a Cluedo sort of game since earlier this week and the winning detective will be announced on Boxing Day.
