‘Race 3’ set to raise the bar

'Race 2' to break records set by prequel?
‘Race 2’ released in 2013

After the success of ‘Race’ (2008) and ‘Race 2’ (2013), producer Kumar Taurani has confirmed that the third instalment is at the scripting stage and they hope it will”raise the bar”.

Taurani also denied recent rumours of Abbas-Mustan having been replaced as directors of the franchise, telling PTI, “This is not true. In fact, the film is in its scripting stage right now. We have not finalised anything as of now…We have still not decided the star cast of the film, location or who will be directing it. So, right now it’s too early to comment on this.”

The producer went on to add, “‘Race 3’ will certainly have a multi-star cast like its previous instalments. But we are taking our own time with the scripting because we want to raise the bar with ‘Race 3’ as both ‘Race’ and ‘Race 2’ have been successful.”

It can be noted that director duo Abbas-Mustanare popular for their work on thrillers, so if they are replace in this franchise one wonders how that will work out for the third ‘Race’ flick.

The makers expect to lock the script within the next three months, afterwhich they will focus on signing the director(s) and finalising a cast.
