Pyarelal Wadali of Wadali Brothers passes away

Sufi maestro, Pyarelal Wadali, known for his incredible work as a part of the Wadali Brothers trio, has passed away after suffering a cardiac arrest.

Pyarelal breathed his last at Fortis Escorts Hospital in Amritsar. He was 75. He leaves behind his wife Surjit Kaur, two sons, Satpal Singh and Sandeep, and three daughters, Sheela Rani, Raj Rani and Soma Rani.

Pyarelal was the younger brother of Ustad Puran Chand Wadali. The two along with Lakhwinder Wadali, were set to perform next month in the UK. This was touted as the Wadali’s first UK tour together. It is not yet known if the tour will be continue or get postponed.

The Wadali Brothers also had success in Bollywood with songs in films like ‘Pinjar’ (2003), ‘Mausam’ (2011) and ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ (2011).
