Farhan-Vidya in sequel of 'Pyaar Ke Side Effects'

Theirs could very well be one of the most interesting jodis yet to hit our screens. ‘Dirty’ Vidya Balan and full-of-wit Farhan Akhtar, it seems, are about to share screen space and the film they will be brought together in is titled ‘Shaadi Ke Side Effects’ (SKSE). The sequel to 2006’s ‘Pyaar Ke Side Effects’ will see the original cast of Mallika Sherawat and Rahul Bose replaced.

As reported by Times of India, the sequel will be taking the same characters and exploring how their relationship, as a married couple, develops. Producer, Pritish Nandy, touches on the new pairing, “We make cinemathat is big and also intelligent. Farhan is one of the most intelligent actorstoday. He and Vidya are two of the biggest stars of 2011. It will instantly make my film topical. Both of them loved the script immediately.”

Akhtar confirms his involvement in the project, “SKSE is a departure from my earlier work as an actor. It’s a romantic comedy a genre I haven’t done yet so it promises to be a new experience. Saket has written a funny yet moving story about simple things that everyone can relate to. Also, I look forward to working with Vidya”.

Balan also shared her thoughts, “I loved Pyaar Ke Side Effects, and SKSE is the story of what happens to a man and a woman after they become husband and wife. It begins where every romcom ends… It’s the first time that Farhan and I will be working together. He’s so real that everything about our situation in SKSE would seem believable”.

BizAsia is sure this jodi will give a new take on the sequel.
