Punjabi station awarded RSL in Birmingham

A Punjabi radio station has been awarded a Restricted Service Licence (RSL) in Birmingham, starting from 1st June.

The station known as Raaj FM will specialise in religious, cultural and music based shows targeting a wide audience. The religious output will broadcast in the morning as well as the evening, with other day parts filled with light-hearted discussions and music.

It has previously won three RSLs in the same area before. Raaj FM does not resemble the existing digital service Raaj Radio, which is based in Leicester.

Raaj FM will be available from Sunday 1st June for 28 days on 87.7FM (24 hours a day).
