PTV Global readies March launch

Pakistani broadcaster PTV Global is all set to launch on Sky Digital, next month.

The Director of PTV Global, Ihsan Qadir Hashmi, confirmed the development to BizAsia.co.uk today.

PTV Global is one of the five channels (PTV-1, PTV World, PTV National, PTV Bolan, PTV Global) of Pakistan Television Corporation.

PTV has been in the field of Production & Broadcasting of TV Programmes since 1964. The network also covers 87% of the population in Pakistan through terrestrial transmitters.

Prime TV, which was previously known as PTV Prime is also said to be working closely with the upcoming channel.

PTV Global’s programming will comprise of general entertainment, religious shows, news and current affairs shows.

According to the broadcaster, PTV Global will soft launch on Sky Digital on Monday 26th March 2007. Test transmissions of PTV Global will go live around Monday 12th March.
