Protests by Karni Sena continue over ‘Padmaavat’ release

With the release of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmaavat’ looming, protests have continued by the Karni Sena outside the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) office in Mumbai.

DNA India reports that Karni Sena President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi had threatened protest at the CBFC office on Thursday for its decision to release ‘Padmaavat’. Gogamedi said, “The CBFC which has been running ever since the time of Britishers doesn’t know how to work.” He had also called for the resignation of Chief, Prasoon Joshi. “From the past one and a half year, we have been talking peacefully but now it is time to take up the path of aggression”, said Sukhdev.

Meanwhile one of the protesters outside the office said, “We don’t trust anyone before we have seen the film ourselves. We have faith in our government, but we do not trust the filmmaker. Going by the trailer and whatever we have seen so far, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has hurt Rajput sentiments and glory. ”
