Salman Khan’s driver, Ashok Singh is expected to face charges of perjury in the actor’s hit and trial case.
Prior to the verdict, Khan had moved the court saying he was not drunk and neither was he driving the car. Singh had accepted he was behind the wheel and the accident took place after the car’s tyre burst.
In the verdict today, Judge DW Deshpande clearly told Khan that “you were the one behind the wheel. It is not possible that your driver was behind the wheel”. Singh was also branded a liar.
The prosecution alleged that Singh had taken money to give a false testimony.
