Producer Harinder Sikka has released an official statement on his film ‘Nanak Shah Fakir’ being withdrawn from cinemas worldwide.

“It is with great regret that I would like to inform audiences that we are temporarily withdrawing the film Nanak Shah Fakir from cinemas worldwide. For all those who have watched the film and come out to support, a massive heartfelt thank you and for those who have opposed it, we apologise if through our film, which was only made to show the world the beautiful teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, we’ve upset you.

Let me take this opportunity to reconfirm that we have shown our beloved Guru with utmost respect by depiction only through computer graphics, amidst a ray of light facing backwards throughout the movie.”

As this project has been made with a lot of passion and hard work and only with the intent of spreading Sikhi to the world, we will be working closely with the Akal Takht Sahib and SGPC to reach a resolution.”
