Producer Deepak Mukut confirms ‘Apne 2’ will go ahead
Contrary to director Anil Sharma’s recent statement that there would be no sequel following the demise of veteran actor Dharmendra, producer Deepak Mukut has now confirmed that ‘Apne 2’ will indeed go ahead, as a heartfelt tribute to the legendary star.
Mukut revealed that he had narrated the complete script to Dharmendra only a few months before his passing. The actor was said to be deeply enthusiastic about reuniting with his sons on screen and particularly delighted at the prospect of sharing space with his grandson Karan Deol in a full‑fledged role for the very first time.
Speaking about the project, Mukut shared, “Dharamji was very excited about the sequel. It was one of his wishes to make ‘Apne 2’ with his children. We are reworking the script now, which will be told from the point of view of Sunny and Bobby’s characters. There will be some changes as Dharamji is no more, and we’ll miss him dearly.”

He further emphasised, “‘Apne 2’ will be made and it will be a tribute to Dharamji.” The team is currently exploring ways to incorporate Dharmendra’s character into the narrative, ensuring his presence continues to be felt in the film.
