Sanjay Dutt is currently serving a jail sentence but the repeated leave granted to him has caused Maharastra to order a probe into whether the actor is receiving preferential treatment by authorities.
The Minister of State for Home, Ram Shinde, said, according to Indian Express, “We have information that around four-five other convicts have requested for furlough, but only Dutt has been repeatedly granted the leave. We have to find out under what law he has been granted the furlough”.
“We shall not allow this injustice to anybody. The report I have sought will not favour anybody,” said Shinde.
Dutt is serving a five-year sentence and has been granted leave so far on his wife Maanyata’s ill-health and also his own. The actor is currently on a 14-day furlough and he has been seen at ‘PK’ events, as he has starred in the film.
