Priyanka Chopra to play Amrita Pritam?

Reports were rife last year that Kareena Kapoor Khan would be playing the female lead in Sahir Ludhianvi�۪s biopic about Amrita Pritam. News now has it that Priyanka Chopra has bagged the part.

The project is tentatively titled ��Gustaakhiyaan�۪ and Irrfan Khan has also been signed for the role of an Urdu poet. A source close to the project told TOI, ���She was always the first choice for the role. Ashi is sure that Priyanka fits the bill�۝.

Ashi Dua, producer of last year�۪s ��Bombay Talkies�۪, is going to produce the film and it should go on the floors in early 2015.
