Priyanka Chopra to fly home for father’s death anniversary

Priyanka Chopra’s father, Dr Ashok Chopra, died last year after a battle with cancer.Obviously, this was very sad news for the family but more for Chopra as she was so close to him. BizAsia has learnt that she will be taking time out of her busy shooting schedule to be at home for the first anniversary of his death on 10th June.

Chopra, who is currently occupied shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, will no doubt need to be with her family during this time. Lately, she has been posting some photos on the sets of the film which also stars Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Anushka Sharma, Shefali Shah and Farhan Akhtar.

Coincidentally, Akhtar will also be flying to London in July to deliver a masterclass for the London Indian Film Festival – he will also be taking a few days out from ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’.
