Priyanka Chopra sponsors a girl’s education

It seems that Priyanka Chopra really does walk the walk with her actions. The superstar actress, who was made a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador earlier this year, is a strong advocate of education for women and has recently taken this message closer to home.

Chopra has continuously stressed the importance of the lack of education that girls receive and the impact this has. Following recent trips to Jordan and Syria, Chopra has raised her voice about the inequalities girls face from society and their own families in not being treated equally. Recently the actress was made aware her domestic help could not afford to educate both of her children so she chose to educate her son instead of her daughter, as reported in Bombay Times.

The benevolent actress turned her words into actions by immediately offering to sponsor her domestic help daughter’s education. She also took the opportunity to educate her on the reasons why both genders should receive education.

Chopra’s inspiration to millions was through her hard work and determination on screen, now it is also through her philanthropic actions.
