After a rough patch, Priyanka Chopra is back on track in what can be described as one of the best phases of her career. After a hat-trick of 100 crore films (Don 2۪ at the fag end of last year, Agneepath۪ and Barfi!۪), Chopra۪s international debut single In My City۪ alongside Will.i.am has garnered worldwide recognition too so much so that she’s been nominated at the World Music Awards (WMAs) 2013 with pop sensations Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Madonna.
The World Music Awards is an international awards show founded in 1989 that annually honours recording artists based on worldwide sales figures provided by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).
Her music has been liked a lot in the west. She has been nominated under three categories Best Debut, Best Song and Best Video. Her collaboration with Will.i.am for In my city۪ has been received well, said a source to the Hindustan Times.
It۪s a matter of pride for an Indian artiste to be recognised and nominated alongside some of the best names in the world. Priyanka is absolutely delighted, added the source.
On the acting front too, Chopra is said to be a top contender for her superlative performance as Jhilmil in Anurag Basu۪s Barfi۪ which released earlier this year.
Way to go PC!
