Priyanka Chopra to put ‘Quantico’ on hold for ‘Bharat’?

Priyanka Chopra who has been away from the Bollywood scene for the past two years, is rumoured to make a comeback, which would make her fans very happy if she does.

Reported on Pinkvilla, if Chopra does return for a Bollywood film, it could be for Ali Abbas Zafar’s ‘Bharat’, which will see her star opposite Salman Khan. A source shared, “Priyanka has also worked with Ali in Gunday (2014) and shares a good rapport with him. This film will see the three of them collaborate for the first time.”

A leading tabloid also reported that Chopra was keen on the script for ‘Bharat’, “Priyanka was quite taken by the script of Bharat. What also added to her excitement was that it would give her the chance to team up with Salman after a decade. But she’s not signed on the dotted line yet.”

The source also suggested that Chopra will have to forego a third season of ‘Quantico’ if she decides on doing a Bollywood film. “Priyanka feels the show will lose steam if they continue with more seasons. Before pursuing any more international offers, she wants to do a Hindi film. Any clarity on Quantico’s next season will only come after the third season has been aired. She won’t say no to them if the next season is sanctioned, but she fears being repetitive.”

Zafar who gave a bit of context of what ‘Bharat’ will be about, said all will be revealed once details had been finalised. “Since the story spans over a period of 70 years, there will be many historical references. It is essentially about a man who lives through several significant moments from India’s past to present. We are currently working on the film’s pre-production and details will be announced once we are in a position to talk about them.”

Khan and Chopra haven’t shared screen space for about a decade, their last films together were, ‘Mujhse Shaadi Karogi’ (2004), ‘Salaam-e-Ishq: A Tribute to Love’ (2007) and ‘God Tussi Great Ho’ (2008).

‘Bharat’ is an adaptation of the Korean movie ‘Ode to My Father’, and has been slated to release Eid 2019.
