While the remake of ‘Sadma’ is still being decided in India, it seems Hollywood is jumping on the ‘Sadma’ remake quick!
According to IANS, ad-filmmaker, Lloyd Baptista is planning to shoot a remake of ‘Sadma’ in Hollywood next year, with either Priyanka Chopra or Deepika Padukone expected to role originally played by Sridevi.
Baptista told IANS, “Yes, I will first shoot the Sadma remake in Hindi and then next year I will shoot it in English. We are simultaneously locking the starcast for both the films and both the films will have a different star cast. For the Hollywood version we will have an Indian actress and a Hollywood actor. The Indian actress will be someone who works in Hollywood, but I can’t give out the names right now. It’s one of the actresses who is working abroad.”
Talking about the Indian remake, Baptista added, “Mukesh Chabra is currently helping us with the casting and I had a chat with Kareena Kapoor Khan for the same but she was busy with Ki & Ka. It’s very difficult to get the right cast who can do justice to Kamal and Sridevi’s role. We are in talks with the A-list actors for the remake.”
