Ever since Karan Johar bought the rights of Amish Tripathi’s book ‘The Immortals of Meluha’ there has been speculation over who wil star in the film.

While Hrithik Roshan is the frontrunner for the role of Lord Shiva, the lead actress to essay the role of Parvati was rumoured to be Priyanka Chopra. Apparently Dharma Productions, producers of the magnum opus were keen to recreate the magic Hrithik and Priyanka shared in ‘Agneepath’ (2012).

Speaking to Times Of India, the desi girl said, “I’ve not been approached for the role”.

According to recent buzz Vidya Balan is being considered for the female lead.

‘The Immortals of Melhua’ published in 2010 is the first novel in the trilogy based on Lord Shiva. Karan had acquired the rights of the book to be made in to a feature film last year.

With Hrithik Roshan currently shooting for his home production ‘Krrish 3’ (2013) it is not yet known when he will start the film or who will direct it.
