Priyanka Chopra: “Nobody can be Ajay Devgn, unfair to compare”

Jai Gangaajal 340x

Priyanka Chopra says it “unfair to compare” her character in ‘Jai GangaaJal’ to what Ajay Devgn did in the 2003 ‘Gangajaal’.

Elaborating on this, Chopra told PinkVilla how she felt about possible comparisons, which will be made after the release of her film, “Not at all yeah! Nobody can be Ajay Devgn and it is unfair to make comparisons. They are totally different characters. I am happy that Prakash Jha thought that I was bold enough to take ahead the legacy. I hope I have live up to it.”

The actress, who is living it up Stateside with ‘Quantico’ and ‘Baywatch’ said she was excited about her role as a copper in ‘Jai GangaaJal’, “I am very excited for the movie to release. It is an exciting and a relevant film and I am happy I got to be a part of the movie. The USP of Jai Gangaajal is that it has a dhamakedar story with relevant debates, which are happening in the country. It talks about feminism, farmer suicides, corruption told by a bold filmmaker like Prakash Jha who is always known for his point of views.”

‘Jai GangaaJal’ releases this weekend.
