Priyanka Chopra Jonas opens up abut leaving Bollywood for other projects

Priyanka Chopra has spoken candidly about why she expanded her career beyond India, saying she never intended to step away from Hindi cinema but felt increasingly restricted by the roles coming her way. She explained that the move towards international projects was driven by a need for work that felt more exciting and creatively challenging, rather than a desire to leave Bollywood behind. She said she “never wanted to leave Bollywood” but felt “limited for many reasons” and gradually found herself seeking opportunities abroad that allowed her to grow as an artist.

Chopra described how taking on English‑language projects opened up a new creative landscape, but emphasised that her connection to Indian cinema remains strong. She expressed her enthusiasm about returning to shoot in India, saying she enjoys working across both industries and sees them as distinct cultural spaces she is proud to navigate. She added that she would “hate to have to choose between the two” and values the ability to move fluidly between them.

Her next appearance will be in ‘The Bluff’ on Prime Video, continuing her run of global projects while maintaining her long-standing ties to Indian storytelling.
