Priyanka Chopra Jonas confirmed for Amazon Studios’ Ma Anand Sheela film

Priyanka Chopra Jonas is back on track to play bio-terrorist Ma Anand Sheela with the project being helmed by Amazon Studios.

The biopic titled ‘Sheela’ will be written by Nick Yarborough and directed by Barry Levinson, Deadline reported. Producers reportedly include Jason Sosnoff, David Permut of Permut Presentations, along with Levinson’s Baltimore Pictures and Chopra’s Purple Pebble America.

‘Sheela’ was announced last year by Chopra, but the film hit a snag when Sheela sent Chopra a legal notice for attempting to tell her story without her permission.

Dharmatic Entertainment and Netflix are also producing a documentary on Sheela, directed by Shirley Abraham and Amit Madheshiya with Shakun Batra as the showrunner and executive producer.
