Priyanka Chopra branded “unprofessional” for quitting ‘Bharat’

The recent news of Priyanka Chopra rumoured to be engaged to Nick Jonas has captivated the headlines, but also the fact Chopra decided to quit her forthcoming ‘Bharat’ with Salman Khan has received criticism from some.

Reported on Hindustan Times, director Ali Abbas Zaffar who tweeted in a slightly cryptic response to the ‘Quantico’ stars decision, said he was happy for Chopra and wished her and Jonas all the best, saying “Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special , she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her … Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life.”

However, there has equally been some backlash, calling Chopra “unprofessional” by one of the producers of the ‘Bharat’ team and now Nikhil Namit, CEO, Reel Life Productions has expressed that he was unhappy. “Priyanka told us she had to exit due to her engagement, two days ago. It was a little unprofessional of her to do it so suddenly.”

There are reports that Khan is in search of a replacement pronto. Currently the front runners for the role are Katrina Kaif and Jacqueline Fernandez.

Chopra has one other Bollywood project, Shonali Bose’s ‘The Sky Is Pink’, which she has commenced. Here Chopra will be playing a role of a mother and will also star Farhan Akthar and Zaira Wasim.
