Popular British Pakistani entertainment channel, Prime TV is emerging as one of the biggest platforms for international Twenty20 cricket leagues for Asians in UK/Europe.

Earlier this year, the channel smashed ratings with record viewership in its 19-year history after the exclusive coverage of the inaugural Pakistan Super League series. Prime TV has also secured the rights of the Pakistan Super League, season two, which takes off in February 2017.

The broadcaster is hoping to replicate the same success with the ongoing telecast of the fourth edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 2016). The channel will broadcast all 46 matches exclusively in the UK/Europe region. The tournament features global cricketing superstars Chris Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Darren Sammy, Mahela Jayawardene, Kumar Sangakkara, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Malik, Tamim Iqbal, Shakib ul Hasan and Carlos Brathwaite.

For the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League, Nitin Anand, Elite Media Works states, “We’re delighted to team up with Prime TV (Sky 792) this year as our media partners in United Kingdom and Europe. Top class T20 cricket in a carnival-like atmosphere has proved a hit with fans everywhere and we expect the 2016 tournament to be bigger and better than before.”

Other than sport, Prime TV is known for many firsts including carrying news bulletins from Pakistan news channels Aaj News, Dawn TV and currently, Express News.

With competition in the UK Asian television sector at the most intense it has been, Prime TV is holding its niche, with a successful run in UK ratings despite the continuous launches of new Asian TV channels.
