Prime TV acquires Pakistan Super League rights

Pakistani entertainment channel, Prime TV has acquired the UK television rights of the inaugural Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2016.

The news was confirmed through a Twitter post by Najam Sethi, Chairman of Pakistan Super League. He said, Prime TV will broadcast the tournament, which starts on 4th February 2016.

The heavily budgeted event will star top Pakistani cricketers, as well as international cricketing talent. It will see five teams participating in it with each team representing a city. The Pakistan Super League league will be held in UAE – At two stadiums in Dubai and Sharjah. The 24 matches will be held take place between 4th February – 24th February.

This is the first major cricketing event for Prime TV, which has beaten competition from other Pakistani, Indian and mainstream broadcasters for the lucrative rights.

Ten Sports, PTV and Geo Super will share the rights of the series in Pakistan. It will also be streamed on the Pakistan Super League and Pakistan Cricket Board websites.
