‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ to have the longest Bollywood song

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo Salman Khan

While most Bollywood films include songs, Sooraj Barjatya has always made sure to direct films which are true to the genre of musicals with songs that further the story. Barjatya’s upcoming film ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ is all set to feature the longest Bollywood song till date.

Speaking toDNA India, choreographer Ahmed Khan said, “There is a 13-minute song in PRDP, which I have choreographed for. It’s the longest song in Bollywood ever… It is just one full song… It takes the story ahead… Salman will be seen playing football at a marriage ceremony. He has danced in the song in a different attire altogether… There’s a unique magic to the number. ”

A source alsoadded that the song is reminiscent of the cricket sequences in Barjatya’s classic ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ (1994).

It can be noted that while composer Anu Malik had recordeda song of 20 minutes for ‘Ab Tumhare Hawaale Watan Saathiyo’ (2004), the song was split in the film and used at various intervals. The song in ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ will play in one go.

Music of’Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ has been composed by Himesh Reshammiya. Starring Salman Khan and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles, the film is slated to release for Diwali 2015.
