Preeya Kalidas dropped by record label

Former ‘EastEnders’ star Preeya Kalidas has been dropped by her record label after her debut single flopped.

Kalidas, who played Amira Masood in ‘EastEnders’, had recorded an album, ‘Constant Cravings’, for the Mercury record label.

The 29-year-old’s debut single, ‘Shimmy’, only reached 85 in the British charts.

A spokesman for Preeya told The Sun: “There was a difference of opinion with Mercury about the direction she should go in. If Mercury is not the right label, there are others who are interested.”
