Prashant Tamang named latest ‘Indian Idol’
Sony Entertainment Television Asia’s reality show ‘Indian Idol’ has come to an end with the latest winner being announced as 24-year old Prashant Tamang.
The hit TV show, which ended tonight, has raked in huge audiences for the broadcaster in its five-month run.
Prashant originally from Darjeeling is a constable in the West Bengal police. He was up against another 24-year-old hopeful – Amit Paul from Shillong.
Prashant won a cash reward of Rs 1 crore, a Maruti SX-4 and a contract with Sony to release his own album.
The winner was crowned by Bollywood superstar John Abraham at a gala event in New Delhi. Prashant won a whopping seven crore share of the public votes.
