Prakash Jha is known for his hard hitting political films like ‘Raajneeti’ (2010) and ‘Gangaajal’ (2003). While all his actors have given top notch performances in his direction, he is all ready to direct himself in the sequel to ‘Gangaajal.’ While it was initially reported that Jha will be debuting as an actor in the sequel with a negative role, it is now reported that he will be playing a positive character in the film.

According to the Indian Express, Jha was to play a “manipulative cop” but his debut will be that of a senior inspector alongside Priyanka Chopra. The negative character will be played by Manav Kaul who said the role is “complex and interesting.”

‘Gangaajal’ (2003) starred Ajay Devgn, Gracy Singh, and Yashpal Sharma. It was about a cop fighting against corruption, and the sequel will have Chopra as the tough cop. This is not the first time Chopra will be donning the role of a cop, having played them in both ‘Don’ films, (2006, 2011) and most recently ‘Gunday’ (2014).
