Prachi Desai is adamant the failure of her film Azhar۪ (2016) was due to the unforgiving nature of the audience.
Azhar۪ tells the story of the life of former Indian cricketer and former India national cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin. Desai, who played the former cricketer’s first wife, told PTI,There are things which are beyond our control. Youshould make peace with it. I feel people were a bit unforgiving towards Azhar, despite the court giving him aclean chit in the matter.
Azhuraddin۪s implication in the match fixing scandal resulted in a ban from cricket by the BCCI in 2000 which was lifted in 2012. Desai also said, For a lot of people, cricket is huge. They used towatch and follow him but something fell apart when the controversy happened. Some people took it to their heart.
Azhar۪ also starred Emraan Hashmi,Nargis Fakhri and Lara Dutta. Desai also urged people to watch the film when it premieres on television, People should watch this on TV. It has a huge reach, not only in the country but every part of the world.
Desai will be seen next in Rock On 2۪, the sequel to Rock On۪ (2008).
