Prabhas on Bollywood break: “I’ve been getting some good offers”

Prabhas who reigned the box office with ‘Baahubali’ (2015) and more recently ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ (2017), is rumoured to be planning his Bollywood debut.

Though both films were made in Hindi and catered to the Indian audience viewing, according to the Hindustan Times, the Telugu actor says that before he embarks on making films in Bollywood he will complete his current projects in South India cinema such as ‘Saaho’, which will also see Shraddha Kapoor make her Telugu debut.

“I might do a Bollywood film. I’ve been [getting] some good offers,” says Prabhas. “But I’ll first need to finish Saaho, and a beautiful love story (that he has signed). The film is set in Europe of the 1960s-70s. We’re planning to wrap them up by June-July next year. After that, I’ll take up a Bollywood film.” Says the ‘Baahubali 2’ actor.

He further added that it was important to make films which had an universal appeal such as the ‘Baahubali’ franchise. “I want to do Indian films based on scripts with an universal appeal. The way Baahubali has connected with people all over India… it has given us recognition all over the country. It’s a humbling experience. I’m thankful to the entire team. [Filmmaker] SS Rajamouli’s vision worked. His magic worked and something really great happened. We all are going to remember it for the rest of our lives, and that’s beautiful.”

Asked if he would like to do an international film, the Telugu actor says it’s not something he has considered doing. “I’ve never thought about doing international films. But if I get something exciting, I might take it up. Everything depends on what comes my way. Baahubali gave me something that’s really huge. So, as of now, I want to do Indian films.”
