Prabhas on ‘Baahubali’ success: “People recognise me from all over country”

Chennai born actor, Prabhas, who played the central character in ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ (2005) and in its sequel ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’ (2017) is happy living under its shadow. The Times of India reports the actor saying “I don’t want to break out of the image. This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that I got and I want to keep it all my life.”

Prabhas shot to fame by playing the characters of Amarendra Baahubali and Mahendra Baahubali. The film went on to become one of India’s biggest blockbusters with global earnings of over nine hundred crore rupees. The film’s story is centred on the battle for the ownership of an ancient kingdom between two brothers.

Speaking about the fame he received after the film’s success, Prabhas said, “People recognise me from all over the country which we didn’t expect. We thought that the film might work but not like this… Now, people recognise me from Telugu to suddenly all over the country… It is very beautiful.”

Currently, Prabhas is working on Telugu film ‘Saaho’, which will see Actress Shraddha Kapoor make her debut in Telugu cinema. The film is concurrently being shot in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
