While there’s been much reported about the sequel of 1991’s ‘Sadak’, nothing has come from Vishesh Films itself about the status of the project. Now, Pooja Bhatt has confirmed that the second instalment is on its way.
“It’s too early to speak about the script and casting. Bhatt saab is writing the sequel and has to be the creative strength with regards to the storytelling,” said Bhatt, as quoted by Box Office Capsule.
As with every film that achieves a cult status, the second part needs to be justified as Bhatt says, “One thing we are all clear about though – that we won’t attempt it until we believe we can live up to the first. ‘Sadak’ is a classic and a favourite of millions of people. If we revisit the film, we need to be sure why.”
There have been rumours that Sanjay Dutt would be reprising his role and Alia Bhatt would play his daughter. It remains to be seen whether any of these initial reports end up being true.
