Mumbai police have confirmed that extra security has been arranged for Aamir Khan after coming under attack for his remarks over intolerance in India.
Talking to PTI, DCP (Detection) Dhananjay Kulkarni said, “We have provided adequate police security to the actor. There hasn’t been any protest by anyone in the city or at Khan’s house, but we have information that some outfits may hold a protest.”
The actor said he was “alarmed” by a number of incidences and his wife Kiran Rao had even suggested leaving the country. Khan spoke at the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards in Delhi. Since his comments, other Bollywood stars such as Anupam Kher have blasted the actor.
