Pinga from ‘Bajirao Mastani’ a copy of two Marathi songs?

There was much written about Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone’s ‘face-off’ song��from their��upcoming ‘Bajirao Mastani’. The official video was released this week, and is getting mixed reviews. Meanwhile, it seems that the song’s music and lyrics are not original, and very similar to two old Marathi songs.

As according to the Deccan Chronicle,��the music and lyrics of ‘Pinga’ are almost identical to the Marathi song ‘Latpat’ from the film, ‘Amar Bhoopali’ (1951), and ‘Nach Ga Ghuma’ from ‘Chandanachi Choli��Anga Anga Jali’ (1975).

There has been no word from ‘Bajirao’ director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who is the music composer of the film. The lyrics of ‘Pinga’ were written by Siddharth Garima. ‘Bajirao Mastani’ is slated to release on 18th December.
