Pernia Qureshi to promote classical dance

Actress-fashion entrepreneur Pernia Qureshi, who made her Bollywood debut with Muzaffar Ali’s ‘Jaanisaar’ last year, is also a trained classical dancer.

The style icon will now be seen promoting India’s classical dance forms Kathak and Kuchipudi through her dance recitals that she will be conducting in India including Delhi and Mumbai.

Qureshi performed in Delhi on 12th February. She told Zee News, “I will be performing both Kuchipudi and Kathak under the discipleship of great gurus Padma Bhushan Raja Reddy and Padma Bhushan Kumudini Lakhia. I’m very excited for the event.”

The trained classical dancer feels the genre should be encouraged by filmmakers in cinema. She says, “Classical dance should be promoted in Indian films.”
