The Pakistan media regulator, PEMRA (Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority) has announced a ban on illegal Indian television channels in Pakistan.
ARY News reports that a decision was taken today after a meeting between Chairman Pemra Absar Alam and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif. The crackdown begins on 15th October.
Sources have said that the authority is trying to put into effect a DTH licensing scheme in Pakistan.
