Starting from the first day of Ramadhan, Pakistani television will unable to broadcast such content.

PEMRA Chairman Absar Alam said, Airing interviews of abuse victims will be prohibited too,۝ Alam said while addressing a press conference in Islamabad. TV channels should respect the holy month of Ramazan.”

Broadcasters have also been restricted from showing content that dramatise suicide, rape or other criminal acts. Last week, Hum TV was pulled up by PEMRA over child abuse scenes shown in ‘Udaari’ (pictured).
