With a decision expected on the future of Sony Entertainment Television’s show ‘Pehredaar Piya Ki’, the writer of the show, Shashi Mittal spoke about Karan Wahi, who was behind the campaign against the show.
He took to social media to slam the show, which caused a stir amongst the television fraternity. Since then the show has come under fire for depicting a 10-year old boy falling in love with a princess twice his age. The matter currently lies with Broadcasting Content Complaints Council (BCCC), who is assessing the number of complaints the show has received.
Talking to Times Of India, Mittal, the writer of the show said, “I think we are giving Karan Wahi unnecessary publicity. The question is not whether he is right or wrong. I don’t think he deserves this much publicity. People have not talked about Karan’s shows this much.”
Shashi’s husband, Sumeet felt that it was irresponsible of Wahi to comment on the show without watching it. He said, “I am going to ask someone from my office to send a letter to Karan Wahi and ask about his issues with Pehredaar Piya Ki. So that we can get to know what problem he has with the show.”
