‘Pathaan’ Tweet Review: The stars react to the phenomenon

‘Pathaan’, Shah Rukh Khan’s theatrical release after a gap of four years hit screens this week. The initial reactions have been phenomenal. Fans have been posting clips of people dancing in the theatres, some theatres are increasing the number of shows to even include midnight shows!

The Hindi film industry has been waiting for this film for many other reasons. The past few years have seen a massive backlash by the public that have gone onto become ‘Boycott’ trends on Twitter. Added to the already beleaguered public image were the hard financial facts that Bollywood movies were flopping consistently.

The initial reports on ‘Pathaan’ are encouraging and the industry is finally celebrating and basking in the reflected glory of a job well done.

Many of them took to social media to express their happiness.

Anil Kapoor said, ” #Pathaan is not just a film, it’s an emotion!!”

Kamal Haasan who has acted with Shah Rukh Khan in ‘Hey Ram, tweeted, “Hearing great reports about Pathaan. Saket congratulates Pathan. Way to go, brother”

Ayushmann Khurrana tweeted after watching the movie, ” Met him. Hugged him. Danced with him. This feels like a personal victory.”

Karan Johar who apparently had been praying for the movie’s success, posted on Instagram ” I don’t remember when I last had such a fun time at the movies!!! This one’s just the biggest blockbuster!! Mega is the word.”

Raveena Tandon tweeted, ” OMG! Blown away! Just fantastic.”

Anurag Kashyap landed up at the theatre to watch the movie on the first day first show. He stated, ” Khatarnaak action hai. John aur Shah Rukh ka action bahut khatarnaak hai.” He added, “Pathaan hum sab ke liye bahut important hai. Shah Rukh Khan screen pe vapas aa raha hai, hume dekhna zaroori hai, aur film ka superhit hona zaroori hai.” (To paraphrase, the movie has some dangerous actions scenes between Shah Rukh Khan and John Abraham. Pathaan is important for all of us, Shah Rukh is back on screen, we have to watch it, the film needs to become a super hit. )

At the wrap-up party of Kangna Ranaut’s film, ‘Emergency’ she expressed her happiness on its success, “Aisi filmein chalni chahiye.”

Last evening, there was a low-key screening for ‘Pathaan’, attended by stars such as Hrithik Roshan, Govinda and family, Suzzane Khan, Rajkumar Rao-Patralekha, Shilpa Shetty-Kundra, Arjun Kapoor – Malaika Arora and many more.
