Parineeti Chopra starrer ‘Chameli Ki Shaadi’ on hold?

Back in July, BizAsiaLive.com reported that ‘Chameli Ki Shaadi’ (1986) was to be remade after Phantom Films bought the rights of the film. Parineeti Chopra and Diljit Dosanjh were due to star in the film but now it appears the film is now on hold.

Box Office India has reported that the project hasn’t taken off as Phantom haven’t had success in getting co-producers or other production houses to be a part of it. Interestingly, Rohit Jugraj and his writer has reworked the script to bring it up-to-date too and Chopra and Dosanjh had already allocated dates for the shoot too.

The 1986 film starred Anil Kapoor and Amrita Singh.
