Parineeti Chopra dropped from campaign after tweet about CAA protests

Parineeti Chopra has been dropped as the face of Haryana’s Beti Bachao Beti Padhao campaign, after she posted a tweet against the Citizenship Amendment Act.

She had posted, “If this is what’s gonna happen every time citizens expresses their view, forget #CAB, we should not call our country a democracy. Beating up innocent human beings for speaking their mind? Barbaric (sic).”

Incidentally, Chopra is the second star this week to dropped from a project after Sushant Singh was reportedly removed from Star Bharat’s social series ‘Savdhaan India’. He had taken part in an anti-CAA protest rally in Mumbai.
