Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor are reuniting for their upcoming ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’. The duo is shooting in Jhulaghat, and it is the only Bollywood film to be shot in the town. The town has been in the news for the building of the Pancheshwar dam, and the film will be the visual record of it.
Mid-Day reports an source saying, “With the ongoing plan to build the Pancheshwar dam, it will change the topography of this town. Many environmentalists have opposed the construction as it will leave Jhulaghat and other towns submerged. So in a way, the film will be a visual record of this quaint place.”
The source also adds that the location has taken a toll on the team, but the locals have made it very smooth for them. “The travel takes a toll on the team. Plus, the biting cold has made matters worse. The crew has a constant supply of tea and snacks thanks to the locals. They are supporting the film crew in every way, as they realize that this is going to be the first and last film to be shot here.”
‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’ is set to release next August.
