Parineeti Chopra remains Yash Raj Films’ golden find what with her immense talent and persona. However, having had success with her first two films and winning awards for her performances, Chopra has become a little choosy with her roles. BizAsia can confirm that she has reportedly quit Remo D’Souza’s next which would have seen her opposite Sidharth Malhotra.
Interestingly, the film would have seen her paired with Malhotra for a second time as the jodi will also be seen in ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ for the first time. However, it seems she made the choice out of the two and D’Souza lost out. He told Bollywood Hungama, “We were keen to cast Parineeti opposite Siddharth. But she’s already doing another film with him. So we now have to look for someone else”. Both ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’ and D’Souza’s venture are being co-produced by Karan Johar.
The actress, although not accepting that she is being overly selective, expressed that she has not had the chance to show off her jhatkas and matkas on screen yet but that they will be seen in the forthcoming ventures. She commented, “I want to sing and dance and be glamorous on screen. I loved Deepika Padukone’s role in Cocktail. It has songs- dances- glamour, and yet it had a graph. You will be seeing me do all of that in Shaad Ali’s Kill Dill and in Hasee Toh Phasee”.
‘Kill Dil’ will see Chopra paired with Ranveer Singh against with whom she made her debut in ‘Ladies vs Ricky Bahl’ (2011).
