Comedian actor Paresh Rawal will next be seen inUmesh Shukla’s comic venture ‘OMG! Oh My God’. Although loving of his profession, the actor does not see what promotional events have to do with a film’s success.

“Promotions are happening because of paranoia, not because of strategy or campaign. Audience is not a fool, they see through you. Ultimately the film speaks for itself. Movies like ‘Barfi!’, ‘Kahaani’work on word-of-mouth publicity,” NDTVreported the actor stating. Rawal goes on to say how attending the events does not make a difference when it comes to sales at the box office, “…Personally I find it all unnecessary.”

Rawal, who will be seen sharing the screen with Akshay Kumar, will also be debuting as a producer with this film. Talking about the song Go Go Govinda that has Prabhu Deva and actress Sonakshi Sinha busting their moves, the actor isn’t too impressed by this stunt either, “No, it (the song) was not required. The call is taken by marketing team and somewhere I agree to it, agree to their experience of so many years, so it is fine.”

Well if anything, the ‘OMG! Oh My God’ trailers do portray Rawal in his very familiar comic acting style whichhe never fails to impress and, if that’s anything to go by, then hopefully the filmmakers have nothing to be afraid of.
