Pankaj Kapur wants son Shahid Kapoor to marry

As a doting parent it is only natural to want to see your children succeeding in every way possible. Shahid Kapoor has ticked all the boxes and established himself as a great actor, however that doesn’t seem to be enough for father Pankaj Kapur who wants to see him tie the knot.

During an interview for his upcoming film ‘Matru Ki Bijlee��Ka Mandola’, Hindustan Times��reported Kapur saying how he would like to see his son marry soon, “I want to see him married. But it�۪s his choice. He will decide who to marry and then come to me and say ��Here is the girl I want to marry.�۪ As a father, I will make the arrangements and participate. As he is established, it is his prerogative. It�۪s my duty to stand by him.”

Expressing his pride of being a father to a great actor, Kapur expresses how, although he supported his son in his career, he made sure his son made a name for himself, “I�۪m the proud father of a star, but I didn�۪t make him one. When he was going to sign his first film, he asked me to come with him, but I didn�۪t go. I told him that he should handle it himself.”

After his long-term relationship with actress Kareena Kapoor ended, Kapoor was linked with many other high profile actresses such as Vidya Balan and Priyanka Chopra, all of which were denied. Whoever the lucky lady is, it appears she will be filling a void in both Kapoor’s and Kapur’s lives.
