Panjab Radio to launch in North-East England

Panjab Radio has confirmed that it will be expanding its broadcast to the North-East of England from Monday (14th March).

The station, which closed its youth service, Asian Fx in the Midlands in February, is using the extra money to ramp up Panjab Radio’s reach in the UK.

From Monday at 10:00, the Punjabi language station will be available in areas like Newcastle, Sunderland, Durham and Middleborough. At the moment, Panjab Radio is currently only available in London, West Midlands and West Yorkshire on DAB digital radio.

Panjab Radio was previously available nationally on DAB but this was switched off late last year due to high costs and low returns.
