Panjab Radio to continue broadcasting in W Midlands
Popular digital station, Panjab Radio has confirmed to BizAsia that it will continue to broadcast in the West Midlands area despite the closure of the MXR regional DAB multiplex.
Panjab Radio will be the only commercial Asian station to broadcast in the region after the switch over on Tuesday 27th July.
It was reported last year that the three shareholders of the MXR regional multiplex owned by Global Radio, Real and Smooth Ltd and Arqiva, will not be renewing their contract to operate the services. The shutdown of the multiplexes up and down the country started in July and will continue until September.
Panjab Radio will now be available on local multiplexes in various areas of the West Midlands to ensure it provides uninterrupted output during the transition.
