Ofcom has re-awarded the 96.2 FM licence to existing broadcaster Touch FM, dashing the hopes of London digital station, Panjab Radio’s foray into the Coventry FM market.

Ofcom had received applications from Touch Broadcasting Ltd, and from Panjab Radio Coventry Ltd.

Touch FM is wholly owned by Quidem Ltd. The station’s output will provide a full service, locally-oriented music and information station for Coventry and its communities۝.

The licence is for a service, on 96.2 MHz, to cover the Coventry area which has an adult population in its Measured Coverage Area of 247,275.

Ofcom will soon publish a statement setting out the key determining factors for the award of this licence, which will be issued for a seven year period.
