The 16th London Asian Film Festival (LAFF) is all set to take place between the 1st and 14th of June. A special event has been organised for Saturday 7th June, titled Remembering Yash Chopra۪, which will celebrate the life and work of the legendary filmmaker who passed away in 2012.

Remembering Yash Chopra۪ will see respected professor and writer, Rachel Dwyer, in conversation with Chopra۪s wife, Pamela. Pamela Chopra has been a successful playback singer and also worked as a producer, writer and costume designer on many of her husband۪s films, including Kabhi Kabhie۪ (1976), Silsila۪ (1981) and Dil To Pagal Hai۪ (1997).

Dwyer, who has earlier written a biography on Yash Chopra, says, The work of Yash Chopra is one of the glories of Indian film, his career bridging the Hindi cinema of the 1950s and the globalising India of today. Nothing made him happier than making films; then having his family and friends around him for a great meal: Family, films and food۝. His wife Pamela was the centre of his world and his strength.۝

Veteran actor Anupam Kher, who had worked under Chopra۪s directorial wand in films such as Lamhe۪ (1991) and Darr۪ (1993), will also be making an appearance at the event.

The Remembering Yash Chopra۪ evening will be held at the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) in London between 7:30 pm and 10:30 pm.
