If people thought that Pallavi Sharda had been keeping a low profile since the release of her last Bollywood movie ‘Hawaizaada’ earlier this year, you would have been mistaken. The actress has been shooting for a Hollywood movie which stars Nicole Kidman, Dev Patel and Rooney Mara.
The film is called ‘Lion’ and is directed by debutante Garth Davis. Sharda spoke to Mumbai Mirror about the film, “I had auditioned for the part, last year and was excited when I was signed on,” says Pallavi, who plays Dev’s friend in the film. “It’s the story of a boy trying to find his birth mom using Google Earth. My character, an Indian girl, helps him finish the job”.
Sharda shot for the film in Melbourne in April and May. The storyline is based on the novel ‘A Long Way Home’, by Saroo Bierley, which is a true story about a 5-year-old Indian boy who is adopted by an Australian couple and grows up to then want to find his long lost family. Sharda further says, “Dev and Roony are stellar. There’s so much to learn from them,” Pallavi says, adding that she didn’t have to research much for her role. “I usually speak to the director and understand their perspective”.
Sharda also confirmed that she has no Bollywood films forthcoming right now.
